Best voice chat software for gaming? I was wondering what voice chat software is best used for games. As in: - does not spike during conversations - does not lag the game while connected The two that came to my head were Ventrilo and Skype ( i know, not really for gaming but its fantastic) So what would you recommend? My roommate leaves his voice chat software on while his not in the room...wtf? My roommate leaves his voice chat software on while he's not in the room, that makes me feel like being spied. He's always voice chatting with someone when his in the room (playing WOW, err), which made me get into a fight with him. After that incident, I decided keep myself out of that room as long as I can. But, when the only time I am in the room, I can still hear voice from his headphone...which means that person can also hear sounds I make. Yes, I tried to dorm with someone else but this won't happen til this semester ends. What would you do when you face $*#t like this? Obviously, there's no way I can talk to a prick like him again.

What is the best (freeware) software for Screen and Voice Chat? I need a program that is free (freeware) to use, with no limitations that will allow me to have a conference with many people. Aside from .mac and AOL, what other chat clients can I use with voice and video on my imac/macbook? I have a wonderful iMac (intel, first generation, second batch -- April 2007). It's got the camera and mic built-in. However, I can't use the chat with video and voice feature unless I use AOL or .mac. For Leopard, Apple added google chat (and another one I forgot) to the list of chat software that can work seamlessly with both the camera and the mic. I use Yahoo! IM a lot. However, Yahoo!'s IM version for the Mac does not yet come with voice. Only video.
